In the Summer of 2012, I worked at MSU’s LBGT Resource Center as a Community Outreach Writer. During my time there, I wrote nine articles profiling the lives of members of MSU’s LBGT identifying alumni, faculty, and staff.

Aware that much of the current LBGT narrative was, and is still, currently centered on LBGT youth—stories of coming out and struggling to find acceptance—the intent of these articles was to broaden that narrative to include adult LBGT life. In writing these articles, I sought to highlight extraordinary accomplishments of the individuals that I interviewed.
